Possible Delay in Filming?

Summit Entertainment is considering delaying their hit franchise, “Twilight's” Filming in Brazil.  Brazilian violence in Rio de Janeiro may delay filming that was scheduled for later this month. Last weekend’s clash between drug gangs and the Brazilian police in Rio has made movie executives reconsider their filming schedule.
35 civilians were taken hostage in a hotel this past Saturday. The standoff ended in a gunfight that left one dead and four police officers wounded. City officials are now trying to persuade Summit Entertainment executives that everything is safe in the city and that they can stick to their filming schedule.

What would happen if the “Twilight” movie executives delayed filming in Brazil or cut Rio completely out of the movie? At the worst, this movie delay could cost some at considerable money in rescheduling or relocating. It is however, understandable that the executives are showing concern for their actors’ and production crew's safety. The real question is whether or not last weekend's violence was just an isolated incident.

  1. Safety of the cast and crew should be the first and most important consideration.
